Hazard Identified? / Risks from it? | Who is at risk? | Gross Risk Rating
| How are the risks already controlled? What extra controls are needed? | Net Risk Rating | Actions for further Controls
|
Hazard – something that may cause harm or damage. Risk – the chance of it happening. | Young people, Leaders, Visitors? | The gross risk rating is a combination of the likelihood of the risk happening and the impact should no mitigating actions be taken. | Controls – Ways of making the activity safer by removing or reducing the risk from it. For example - you might use a different piece of equipment or you might change the way the activity is carried out. | The net risk rating is a combination of the likelihood of the risk happening and the impact once the mitigating actions have been taken. | These are further actions which have either been identified or are in the process of being implemented to provide additional control to mitigate risks |
Photographs or videos being published against parental request | Young People |
| Any requests received for young people not to be photographed are to be replied to, asking for a clear, recent photograph, ideally including group neckerchief to be sent to nophotos@shirejam.org.uk.
The media team we will endeavour to spot such young people and not publish photographs or videos of them, particularly close ups but this cannot be guaranteed at such a large event.
We will also request that the young people concerned are made aware of the fact that photos and videos are being taken are being taken throughout the event and where possible they take steps to avoid being filmed, such as stepping aside, informing their leader or the media team volunteer. |

Safeguarding - in particular we have a single young person within the team | Everyone |
| Always follow Scouts Association Guidance (Yellow Card) and all other event policies.
Whilst the media team has a single young person there is a particular need to be careful not to be alone 1 to 1 with them.
The media team is co-located with the operations centre which should be continuously staffed. Similarly when out on site filming there will be plenty of other adults present Care should be taken in other circumstances to ensure that no 1 to 1 situation occurs elsewhere.
