Falling from a height - Breaks, fractures and spains.

All instructors are trained and assessed by a senior member of staff.
The group are told not to climb over boulder and wall.
No one can climb on the wall until they have permission from the instructor.
All participants are shown by the instructor how to spot one another correctly.
When climbing on the wall participants must have a partner spotting them at all times.
Instructor must monitor all participants when climbing and spotting.
Participants must not jump onto or off the wall.

Objects falling from height - brusies, contusions.

All structural elements are physically checked and recorded during periodic inspections, as well as visually from the ground at the start of a session.
All participants are to remove everything from their pockets at the start of the session.
Footwear must be appropriate and securely fastened

Equipment failure - Cuts, lacerations, bruising

All structures are checked annually by a competent person.
All equipment is checked by the instructor prior to being used.

Adverse weather conditions – exposure, hypothermia, heat stroke, falling branches. All present Group leaders to ensure their group members are adequately prepared for the prevailing weather conditions.

Group to camp in an appropriate area as much as reasonably possible.

Site to be closed when a yellow wind warning is forecast.

Site to conduct regular tree surveys.
Structruee failure - Cuts, bruises, grazes, broken bones,multi-skeletal injury, death.

Daily visual inspections of structure carried out during set up and logged
on sheets.
Detailed periodic inspection checks carried out and recorded. Areas of
concerns to be inspected by technical expert.
Annual inspection undertaken by an independent competent person.

Group behaviour – loss of control of the group, participants being distracted/not listening. All presentGroup leaders are to ensure that the group is under control at all times.

Leader in charge to stop the session if participant’s behaviour becomes dangerous.
