Risk of inury from fire

Long heair to be tied back
No dangling/overhanging items of clothing - remove neckies, tuck in hoodie ties etc.
No running around the activity area
One person to light the fire at a time
One person to attend to the fire at a time
All members to keep a minimum of 1m distance from the fire unless tending it

Risk of injury from sparks from campfire

Avoid using wet wood
Avoind wood with excessive ammountos of resin visible
No throwing wood onto the fire - all wood to be placed carefully
No flamable liquid/accelerants to be used on the fire at any time



Risk of damamge to buildings or surrounding area
All Present
Fires to be built 5m from all buildings
Fires never to be left unattended at any time
Portable fire pits or group fire pit to be used to prevent scorshing of the ground.
2 buckets of water to be placed near to the area used for the activity for emergency use
Check for prevailing wind direction

Injury due to Long Hair

  • Long hair must be tied back
    or tucked away safely.

where possible wood will be sourced without nails and screws.
if wood does contain nails or screws, wood will be cut to a sensible size removing dense areas of metal.
all participants will be warned if there is any chance of them coming across any sharp objects.
